Motor neurone disease (MND) affects the nerves known as motor neurones. These nerves tell your muscles what to do and are found in the brain and spinal cord. Our vision is a world free from MND. Realising this vision means investing more funds in research, developing strategic partnerships with the research community and research funding bodies, and ensuring that advances in understanding and treating MND are communicated as quickly and effectively as possible.

Our deepest condolences to the family for the loss of their mum and grandma. Daph was a lovely friend, loyal, caring and prayerful. So blessed when Daph ran the Mum’s and Toddlers’ Group - she had a real gift for children’s work and very creative. Daph also had a great sense of humour and was easy to talk to. She will be missed very much.

So many fond memories of Daphne from our St Augustine days Daphne running mums and toddlers as well as sharing her house for house groups strumming her guitar reunited with Joe now. Dancing and singing in heaven I like to think xx

A dear friend, with a generous heart, who always showed up strong for everyone else. We will miss you so much… be at peace now. Thank you for your heartfelt prayers for my mum Chris and for us. We thank God for you and your dear family. (Her close friend Chris Nash is very confused because of Alzheimer’s dementia, so sadly is not able to express the depth of her love for her dear friend Daph in these saddest of days. But they lived out a beautiful friendship that triumphed over so many years, through struggles and mum knew that Daph was always there for her, as she tried to be for her. If mum were able to express it she would express her heartfelt sorrow.) May this donation bring hope and help to others, as Daph would want. Love from Kim and Steve Chaloner

Daphne was such a lovely lady who meant so much to me. From her looking after me at Boswells to doing the talk at my wedding and doing my husbands funeral. She was always there to talk too and to pray with. I was so pleased she was able to come to My 50th birthday party and have lovely photos of her there. She was so happy and had a lovely smile and was there to help everyone even when she was struggling herself. We all will miss her but our memories we have of her will stay with us. She is free from pain and suffering now. I pray for her family as we say goodbye to Daph may they find comfort in all the happy memories and the love and support from Daph’s friends and family. Lots of love from Rosalind Hardy x❤️

Daphne was a big part of my childhood, she was there at school, helping out with sewing, there at Brownies and there when I went to visit my friend Alistair. She was so giving of her time and was truly devoted to her faith and to helping others. Sorry for your loss but what an amazing woman you were all blessed with. Jo
