I met Ron only onece when dropping my dad off for afternoon tea at local cafe with Roy and Terry, I remember Ron being quite tall man, I was shocked and saddened to hear he passed away so soon after my own dad, My dad and Ron were good friends.and enjoyed chat over cup of tea .

I will miss Ron at Art Club...I wonder what heights he would have reached if he had discovered art earlier in his life...A glass will be raised to him at our next Lunch Club.
Mr and Mrs Jan and Roger Goodland
Warm memories of Ron as a fellow member of Chelmsford U3A, and of our happy mutual activities in the Short Walks and Science groups. As a Committee member, Ron was involved with implementing significant technological change in Branch administration. He was also a member of the Chelmsford National Trust Supporters' Group. We donate to Farleigh Hospice in recognition of the Staff's dedicated care for Ron, and of their timely support for Glenys and her family. Chris and Janet

In memory of our Uncle Ron. Such a sad moment, though our lasting memories are of smiles and laughter. Such a gentleman, a pleasure to talk to. Ron and my Dad would be giggling about something, in the lounge , I’d bring cups of tea through and ask what they were laughing about. They’d look at each other , hesitate and say they didn’t really know, another hesitation and they’d both start laughing again. There was always laughter. We will miss you.
Mr Terence Freeman
In loving memory of Ron Freeman a true gentleman, loving husband and father and friend to many. Our hearts go out to Ron’s beloved wife Glenys and to Lyndis and Simon and their loved ones, all of whom loved and adored Ron. May Ron now Rest in Peace
Mrs Margaret Lufkin
For Uncle Ron, always a warm funny gentle man. I can still see you and Dad giggling like children because you couldn't remember a name of a placename; then recalling war time memories of Dad sending you into shops to get extra rations "cause you were little and had beautiful blonde hair". What a great full life you have led! Amazing that you took up art at an older age; your paintings are vibrant showing us a beautiful world . Rest peacefully Uncle Ron, love Jan Doug and family xx

In memory of my darling dad Ron who I loved with all my heart and miss every second of each day . You were my hero ! Your laugh lit up the room and you had an amazing twinkle in your eyes. You loved my mum and us passionately and demonstrated every day how to live a good full life . We will be forever grateful to Farleigh hospice who cared for you so kindly and with respect and gentleness in your last few days.
Mrs Lyndis Forster
My condolences to Ron’s family. I am so very sorry for your loss.

It always gives me so much joy to see what individual members of the u3a Art Club produce. I had no idea, until recently, Ron had created so many pictures. They include a wonderful collection of his lifetime memories of people and places. It is a pleasure to know he got so much from it and enjoyed making his mark. His kind and friendly nature, a rare gift, is one, which I will always remember. Ron was so well liked amongst his friends and fellow painters. We will all miss him. May he rest in peace…

Donating in memory of my beloved grandad, Ron. The care he received at the hospice was exceptional and they treated him and my family with great kindness and compassion. Grandad was an amazing man who achieved a great number of miraculous things with his life. He taught me and my brother the importance of hard work and taking opportunities when they arise. Throughout my entire life Grandad has been a role model of how to look after your loved ones and concentrate on what is important. He has also left a great impression on my fiance, Amber, who enjoyed discussing books and music and great length. He will be missed everyday and his lessons will stay with us all for the rest of our lives.
